Two Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) pilots were left critically injured when their chopper crash landed inside Bargoni KDF camp in Lamu, after developing mechanical issues.

The soldiers were returning from an exploratory military survey of the area when as they were about to land at about 6.40pm Monday July 6, 2015, their aircraft experienced the difficulties.
This caused it to crash and burst into flames, according to The Standard.

KDF spokesperson Col David Obonyo said that the two pilots who were quickly saved sustained serious injuries.
